All You Need To Know About Executive Assessment

Executive Assessment

The corporate world demands something unique and big. Many students take up various exams to step into the corporate world. There is a new mini-GMAT that is slowly getting popular amongst the MBA aspirants. It is the Executive Assessment. Designed for working professionals, it is for the applicants of the Executive MBA program. It tests the real-world skills of the applicants and provides true snapshots of your strength to the EMBA programs. Currently, only a handful of schools are accepting this test.

What is an executive assessment?

Created by the GMAC, it is a mini-GMAT that tests the skills of the students similar to GMAT. The difficulty level aims to evaluate the readiness of the individual entering the business program.

How do the schools use the score?

Applicants, with ample seniority & work experience and with the goal of Executive MBA programs, can use the executive assessment to show their preparedness for the EMBA. Schools evaluate the level of skills of the candidates and address the knowledge gaps before they enrol themselves for the program.

How is it different from the GMAT exam?

Anyone looking to fit a business degree in their career path values the comparison between the EA and GMAT. Although the purpose and format of both these exams are the same, some contrast features vary for both. The preparation time and exam duration vary largely. You require only a month's preparation to sit for the EA while the duration of the exam is 90 minutes. One can opt to reschedule the test without paying any additional costs within the 48 hours window prior to the test. So, if you have an emergency or work & the test 2 days later, you can reschedule it without the test pinching your pockets.

Scores

Designed with the flexibility required by the busy & working people, the exam fee for the test is comparatively lower than the GMAT test. Also, the added benefit of rescheduling is present. The fee you pay not only covers the exam fee but also allows you to reschedule or send your scores to the various schools without paying anything extra. On a scale of 0 to 20, there are three resulting scores for each of the three individual sections. These scores combined with the EMBA rankings in Singapore for any college, you can decide to choose your school.

The total scale is in the range of 100 to 200. You can view the test scores immediately after giving the test and you will get the official score report within 24 hours. However, there are a limited number of attempts for the test.

Why should I appear for the test?

You may need to take the test as part of the application process for any business school, depending on where you wish to enrol yourself. It evaluates your critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Whatever your list of B-schools may be, ensure that you research well about the admission requirements for each one of them. The test will highlight your strengths and the areas where you need improvement.
